VOCAL AND ACTING STUDIES (BA & MA)
The Vocal and Acting programme is designed to provide graduates with a solid foundation and a comprehensive grounding in vocal and acting training.
This programme prepares students for a career as soloists in opera, operetta and musical theatres, as well as for solo performances in cantatas, oratorios and art songs. We educate students in the beautiful surroundings of the Pomeranian Provincial Palace and also prepare them for musical activities in cultural institutions, churches and the media; for academic and teaching work at higher education institutions and for training teachers specialising in voice production and vocal studies; and for promoting musical life in various musical communities.
We also place great importance on the promotion of musical culture. The faculty has a research society which organises artistic and cultural events and supports the university’s activities.
Our teaching staff are highly qualified – they are active soloists achieving success on opera stages around the world, as well as in chamber music – leading figures in the world of classical music.
Every two years, the Faculty organises the Carl Loewe Vocal Competition, which identifies new talent in the world of vocal performance and promotes the work of this composer, who had close ties to Szczecin.
